The Archivo Histórico Arquidiocesano Francisco de Paula García Peláez¹ of the Catholic Church in Guatemala safeguards documents that allow the reconstruction of both ecclesiastical and secular history in Guatemala and the region. It contains documents related to evangelization, pastoral visits, sacramental books, marriage records, etc.

The sacramental section includes documents of deaths, marriages, baptisms, marriage records, or dispensations from the parishes that make up the diocese of Guatemala, such as San Sebastián, the Sagrario, El Calvario, etc.

On FamilySearch, there is a catalog with extensive parish records that allows navigation through the different parishes of the country, with the exception of some that have not been digitized to date.
